    OpenPayerToolsFacility Comparison Dashboard

Want exact facility-level data, live policy updates, and more?

Facility counts, bed counts, and revenue figures here are aggregated from each hospital's latest CMS cost report, not a real-time census. Talk to us for facility-level detail, real-time payer policy tracking, full access to the underlying dataset, and the rest of the OpenPayer product suite, plus a dedicated analyst for your team.

    Facility Comparison Dashboard

Pick 2-6 hospital facility types to compare every metric at once. No further setup.

Adds Average and/or Median cards for Bed Count and Revenue per Facility, alongside their totals.

Medicare & Medicaid Mix (Latest CMS Cost Report)

    No comparison yet

Add 2+ facility types above to compare them.

    Tool Description

Pick 2-6 hospital facility types (optionally adding up to 3 specific hospitals by name) and every metric renders at once: facility count, bed count, net patient revenue, net income, NPI count, and Medicare/Medicaid payer mix, as charts (toggle bar or pie) by region, plus the same breakdown as tables. Every picker (facility types, regions, and metrics) is a row of always-visible toggle chips, nothing hidden behind a dropdown or search box.

Bed Count and Revenue per Facility are averages. The Averages & Medians toggle adds Average and/or Median cards for both, right alongside the Total Beds / Total Net Patient Revenue totals, labeled as such. A type's mean can be pulled hard by a handful of very large hospitals, so the median is often a better "typical facility" figure.

Bar mode shows one stacked bar per region plus National, each facility type (or hospital) a colored segment. Pie mode shows the National split instead. A specific hospital you add only has a real value in its own region, since there's no "national total" for a single building. It only appears on Average, Median, and the % Medicare/Medicaid/Other payer-mix metrics, not on raw totals like Facility Count or Total Beds, where one hospital's own count is always insignificant next to a facility type's total across hundreds or thousands of facilities.

    FAQ

Add 2 to 6 facility types (Short-Term Acute Care, Critical Access, Psychiatric, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Acute Care, or Children's Hospital) and optionally up to 3 specific hospitals by name. There's nothing else to configure. Every metric renders automatically: facility count, total beds, average bed count, total net patient revenue, average revenue per facility, net income, NPI count, and Medicare/Medicaid/other patient-day payer mix, each as a chart (toggle Bar for one bar per region, segmented by facility type, or Pie for the National split) plus a table. The Regions and Metrics rows above the charts are toggle chips: click any one to include or exclude it.
