Product features, guarantees, and limitations that affect benefits and availability.
ALL of the following
- Policies issued by Western-Southern Life Assurance Company; guarantees are based on the issuer's claims‑paying ability and financial strength.
ALL of the following
- Issue ages: 18–85 (age last birthday).
- Minimum single premium: $10,000. Maximum premium varies by issue age.
ALL of the following
- One‑year interest rate guarantee.
- Return of Premium guarantee (less loans and partial surrenders) if the policy is surrendered in year 1; Return of Premium Rider terminates if a policy loan or an Accelerated Death Benefit is taken.
ALL of the following
- Provides a guaranteed death benefit and cash value; policy loans and partial surrenders are available but will reduce the death benefit and cash surrender value and may create taxable events.
ALL of the following
- Accelerated Death Benefit Rider provides access to part of the death benefit for Terminal Illness (life expectancy ≤ 12 months) or Chronic Illness (issue ages 55–80; inability to perform ≥2 ADLs for ≥90 consecutive days or need for substantial supervision due to severe cognitive impairment).
- Accelerated Death Benefit Rider and Confinement Waiver are not available in CA; in all other states the Accelerated Death Benefit Rider is not available for ages 81–85.
- Advances made under the rider are secured by a lien on the death benefit payable under the policy.
- Waiver of surrender charge for confinement to long‑term care facility or hospital for ≥30 days at time of partial or full surrender applies in DE only.
ALL of the following
- Seven‑year declining surrender charge schedule: 8% in policy years 1–3, 7% in year 4, 6% in year 5, 4% in year 6, 2% in year 7, and 0% thereafter; seven‑year declining schedule applies to partial withdrawals as noted.
ALL of the following
- Policy may be issued as a Modified Endowment Contract (MEC); withdrawals or surrenders may be taxable and distributions are taxable to the extent there is gain in the contract.
- A 10% penalty may apply for distributions prior to age 59½ (with certain exceptions).
- For policies funded by an exchange to be issued as non‑MEC, the entire single premium must be a 1035 Exchange and the existing policy must not be a MEC.
ALL of the following
- Simple application with no medical tests; a few health questions; electronic underwriting with a typical quick policy decision in about 5 minutes.
- Standard non‑tobacco and standard tobacco underwriting classes available.
ALL of the following
- Available in all states except ME, NH, NY, and RI; issuer operates in DC and all states except NY.
- Policy and rider provisions and availability may vary by state—specific riders and waivers may be unavailable in certain states (see Accelerated Death Benefit and Confinement Waiver exceptions).
ALL of the following
- Loans, withdrawals, advances, and lapses may reduce death benefit and cash value, may cause the policy to lapse, and may result in taxable income if a policy with an outstanding loan is surrendered.
- Example illustration: a $100,000 single premium for a 67‑year‑old non‑smoker is shown as becoming a $195,986 guaranteed death benefit (illustrative; assumes underwriting approval and date‑specific assumptions).

OpenPayer is powered by Trek Health's payer performance platform. Trek continuously ingests, validates, and normalizes Transparency in Coverage data alongside payer policies and other commercial payer data to create a structured payer intelligence foundation. OpenPayer uses this foundation to deliver personalized search results, dynamically generated policy pages, and tailored policy monitoring based on each user's payers, specialties, billing codes, and areas of interest. The same intelligence powers broader payer performance workflows, including reimbursement benchmarking, contract evaluation, payer negotiations, and financial decision-making.
