OpenPayer is powered by Trek Health's payer performance platform. Trek continuously ingests, validates, and normalizes Transparency in Coverage data alongside payer policies and other commercial payer data to create a structured payer intelligence foundation. OpenPayer uses this foundation to deliver personalized search results, dynamically generated policy pages, and tailored policy monitoring based on each user's payers, specialties, billing codes, and areas of interest. The same intelligence powers broader payer performance workflows, including reimbursement benchmarking, contract evaluation, payer negotiations, and financial decision-making.

The prior group policy is no longer in effect at deactivation.
  1. Provide group coverage offered by the carrier in the nongroup market.
  2. For nongroup coverage, provide the coverage held before active military duty.
  3. ALL of the following

    • The prior nongroup coverage is no longer available.
    • Provide other coverage offered by the carrier in the nongroup market.
  4. Resume coverage for the person and dependents, including any preexisting condition that was covered before active military duty.
  5. Do not deny or limit resumed coverage based on any condition developed by the person or dependents during active military duty.
  6. Carrier Requirements After Deactivation

    Billing Rule

    Resume prior coverage after deactivation

Upon deactivation from active military duty, resume the same health insurance coverage for the person and dependents that was provided before the person entered active duty, including any covered preexisting condition.

    Billing Rule

    Apply current group coverage

For group coverage, provide the deactivated employee the same coverage available to the other employees in the group that is in effect at the time of deactivation.

    Billing Rule

Use nongroup alternative when group policy ends

If the prior group policy is no longer in effect when the employee is deactivated, provide group coverage offered by the carrier in its nongroup market.

    Billing Rule

    Apply nongroup coverage alternative

For nongroup coverage, provide the coverage held before active military duty. If that coverage is no longer available, provide any other coverage offered by the carrier in the nongroup market.

    Denial Risk

Do not condition reinstatement on military-duty health conditions

Resume the required coverage regardless of any condition developed by the person or dependents during active military duty. Coverage may not be denied or limited on that basis.
