The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any electromagnetic devices specifically for the treatment of chronic wounds. Accordingly, use of electromagnetic devices for wound healing is an off-label indication.

Electromagnetic therapy for treating wounds and ulcers is considered unproven and not medically necessary due to insufficient evidence of efficacy. This includes, but is not limited to, treatment of arterial ulcers, chronic pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, soft tissue injuries, and venous stasis ulcers.
