Osteochondral lesions of the talus commonly follow ankle injury and can present as focal cartilage and subchondral bone defects; surgical treatment options include cartilage-restoring techniques such as microfracture/BMS, osteochondral autograft transfer (OAT/mosaicplasty), osteochondral allograft transplantation (OCA), and cell-based repairs (ACI/MACT), among others.
