GERD Endoluminal Therapies: Endoluminal therapy with GERDx™ is investigational, unproven, and not medically necessary for treating GERD as it has not received FDA approval.

Selection criteria to include with PA requests: PPI-refractory regurgitation or persistent symptoms despite optimized medical therapy; hiatal hernia size within device-specific limits (document measured size); absence of advanced/LA grade C–D esophagitis or Barrett’s with high-grade dysplasia; confirmatory diagnostic testing such as manometry and pH testing as indicated.
Confirmatory diagnostic testing prior to MSA: document objective reflux (ambulatory pH testing) and anatomy (EGD/hiatal hernia assessment) and that conservative therapy has failed or is contraindicated.
