The policy describes that intrauterine ventricular shunting for hydrocephalus has limited efficacy and substantial procedural risk, and that antenatal use of fluorinated corticosteroids for congenital heart block did not show improved fetal or neonatal mortality while being associated with increased fetal and maternal complications.
