Covered/billable under Medicaid only when ALL of the following are met:

Drug is manufactured or distributed by a labeler who has signed a DHHS drug rebate agreement (i.e., an eligible product).

Claim is being submitted for a Medicaid member (this requirement does not apply to Neighborhood Commercial or INTEGRITY members).

For products from manufacturers who have not signed a DHHS drug rebate agreement: if prescribed product is brand, prescriber has prescribed a comparable alternative; if the prescribed product is a generic, the dispensing pharmacy has reprocessed the claim for the same product from an eligible participating manufacturer.

In accordance with CMS requirements, Neighborhood will reject claims at the retail pharmacy for medications manufactured or distributed by labelers who have NOT signed a drug rebate agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This applies to both brand and generic medications for Medicaid members. Do not bill Neighborhood for non‑rebate manufacturers — the claim will be denied.

Applies to Medicaid members only; does not apply to Neighborhood Commercial or INTEGRITY members.
Brand products: prescribers should order a comparable alternative that is manufactured by an eligible (rebate‑participating) labeler.
Generic products: dispensing pharmacy should reprocess the claim using the same generic product from an eligible, participating manufacturer.
Pharmacy risk: claims for non‑rebate manufacturers will be rejected/denied at point of sale.
