Notification to providers that Neighborhood's CMP for Urine Toxicology Testing (Screening) #071 will be reviewed by the Clinical Management Committee in July 2021 and reminder of existing coverage rule that immunoassay urine toxicology screening is covered only when performed at point of service; laboratory immunoassay screening is not covered. This notice does not affect definitive/confirmatory laboratory testing.

Policy summary and purpose
Neighborhood develops and maintains Clinical Medical Policies (CMPs) reviewed annually by the Clinical Management Committee and Medical Director to provide coverage criteria. This notice concerns CMP #071 (Urine Toxicology Testing - Screening) and serves as a provider notification about that CMP. Purpose: to notify providers that CMP #071 will be reviewed in July 2021 and to remind providers of the existing coverage rule for immunoassay urine toxicology screening. Effective: 2021-06-08.
