Members participating in duplicative state-funded sobering programs are excluded from coverage for this service. The policy also identifies state services to be avoided when duplicative, including inpatient and outpatient hospital services, emergency department services, and emergency transportation services. Providers should verify that the member is not already enrolled in a state-funded sobering program or receiving duplicative services before admitting to a Sobering Center.
