Medicare Advantage Generic Medication Extended Day Supply Increase
This policy increases the maximum extended day supply for certain generic medications for Florida Blue Medicare Advantage members, affecting prescriptions filled at in-network extended supply retail or mail-order pharmacies beginning January 1, 2023.
Generic medications in formulary tiers 1, 2, and 6 for Medicare Advantage members may be dispensed as a 100-day extended supply instead of 90 days at in-network extended supply retail or mail-order pharmacies.

- Member is enrolled in Florida Blue Medicare Advantage (Medicare Advantage member).

- Medication is a generic drug listed in Florida Blue Medicare formulary tier 1, 2, or 6.

- Dispensing occurs at an in-network extended supply retail pharmacy or by mail-order pharmacy.
- Medication is prescribed and dispensed as a 100-day extended supply (replacement of prior 90-day extended supply for eligible generics).
