Not medically necessary when ALL of the following are met:

Outpatient large multiplex panels: Respiratory pathogen panel testing of six or more targets in an outpatient setting6+ targets

Multiplex testing for noninfluenza respiratory viruses in average-risk adult outpatients is of questionable benefit when results do not change management.
