Indication is prevention of oral mucositis in patients undergoing cancer treatment associated with increased risk of oral mucositis, including chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, and/or hematopoietic cell transplantation.

Evidence scope: The literature spans many device types and clinical indications with substantial heterogeneity in devices, wavelengths, energy/dosing, and application methods; trial quality varies and many studies are small or short-term. Some randomized trials and systematic reviews report short-term symptom benefits for select musculoskeletal and soft-tissue conditions, but results are inconsistent across studies and indications.
