This policy governs coverage for chromoendoscopy (dye-based and virtual/optical technologies such as Narrow Band Imaging) when used for surveillance of Barrett's esophagus and for colorectal cancer surveillance in individuals with a personal history of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It applies to services billed to Cigna-administered health benefit plans.
