Medically necessary thyroid testing
Covered when the following clinical scenarios and monitoring intervals apply
For secondary hypothyroidism, monitor with fT4 every 6 weeks after dose change and annually when stable.
For pregnant/postpartum individuals with diagnosed hyperthyroidism, additional TT4 and antibody testing may be reimbursable.
