Used to minimize tooth sensitivity caused by clenching or bruxism.
Used to relieve stress from occlusion following periodontal therapy when appropriate.
A narrative with rationale for treatment is provided.

Not Indicated / Exclusions

Occlusal guards are not indicated when ANY of the following apply:

Treatment of temporomandibular disorders or myofascial pain dysfunction.
By definition, occlusal guards are not an appropriate treatment for temporomandibular disorders.
