Reimbursable testing scenarios (subject to product-specific applicability and plan documents):
ALL of the following
ANY of the following
- Classic homocystinuria due to cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) deficiency when testing is performed by quantitative plasma amino acids analysis and/or plasma or urine total homocysteine analysis.
- Testing for homocystinuria using dried blood spots (newborn screening).
- Testing for hypermethioninemia using dried blood spots (newborn screening).
- A repeat dried blood specimen submitted to the newborn screening program, or a quantitative plasma amino acid analysis and analysis of plasma total homocysteine, when the initial screening test result exceeds the methionine cut-off level.
