Pathogen Panel Testing
Reimbursement and coding policy for outpatient pathogen panel laboratory testing (respiratory, GI, blood, CSF, urine, wound) describing when multiplex or antigen panel testing is reimbursable or not for BCBSNM members and providers.
Revised reimbursement statements to allow multiplex PCR respiratory panels of up to 5 pathogens for individuals displaying signs/symptoms of respiratory tract infection; immunocompromised individuals may be eligible for multiplex PCR panels of up to 25 pathogens; panels of 6 or more pathogens are not reimbursable except as described.
